Chapter 3: A Tangible Bond, reflects on the initial hope and desire Yaku held for The ImPossible Family Reunion to come to life. It now seems almost within reach. Our characters return with some additional family members, their identities more refined, their personalities more deeply explored. Our references have also broadened, encompassing elements of the natural world and prehistoric creatures that once roamed the skies, lands, and waters of our Earth. The RuneScape RPG themes evolved into items like Sword Belts, 99-Strength Jackets, and Disguise Capes, all designed to bring the conceptual fantasy to wearable reality, bridging the gap between costume and fashion.

During development, we delved deeper into refining our colouring techniques. The collection is almost entirely produced from white or undyed fabric, which is subsequently garment-dyed. This method allows us to explore and refine the palette with precision. Inspired by the Earth’s vibrant hues, we used references like dinosaur and reptile skin, fossils, autumn leaves, and sea creatures during colour development and testing. This influence extends to textures and silhouettes, with bombers with pterodactyl spikes and trousers draped to mimic trilobite fossils.

While fitting broadly into menswear, this collection, like all our work, is mostly for those who appreciate story-telling and the feeling of childlike discovery and nostalgia for times of great freedom and self-exploration.
